HMH Into Reading – Grades K–5

At PS 176Q, we use HMH Into Reading, a comprehensive reading and writing program, to support students in developing strong literacy skills from Kindergarten through 5th grade. This research-based program emphasizes critical thinking, comprehension, and effective communication. Students engage with diverse texts, including stories, poems, and informational articles, while building foundational skills in phonics, vocabulary, and grammar.

HMH Into Reading also integrates writing across the curriculum, allowing students to express their ideas clearly and confidently in multiple formats. The program’s interactive approach combines small group instruction, independent practice, and digital resources, ensuring that every student receives personalized support to become a proficient and enthusiastic reader and writer.
