Passport to Social Studies – Grades K–5

At PS 176Q, students use Passport to Social Studies, a dynamic program designed for Kindergarten through 5th grade that brings history, geography, civics, and culture to life. In addition, students engage with the NYC DOE’s Civics program and the Civics for All curriculum, which together provide a strong foundation in government, civic responsibility, and community engagement. Civics for All focuses on helping students understand the roles of citizens, explore democratic principles, and practice civic participation through age-appropriate, interactive lessons.

Through engaging projects, primary sources, and collaborative activities, students develop critical thinking, research, and communication skills. These programs support students in becoming informed, responsible, and active members of their communities while fostering a lifelong curiosity about the world around them.
