Student Enrollment

Thank you for your interest in enrolling at P.S. 176Q. The Cambria Heights School is a zoned elementary school. This means that children who live in the zone, or area around the school, have priority to attend the school.  You can find your zoned school by visiting the following website: Find Your Zoned School or by calling 311.

You may use the resource below to learn more about NYC Public Schools Admissions.

If you are a zoned family interested in enrolling your child(ren) in P.S. 176Q, you may reach out to our pupil accounting secretary, Mrs. Alvarez, at NAlvarez13@schools.nyc.gov or via phone during regular school hours at 718-525-4057.

Kindly make note of the following:

3-K
Apply to 3-K during the calendar year your child turns three. In early 2024, all NYC families
with children born in 2021 can apply for September 2024 admissions to free or low cost, full day, high-quality 3-K programs. 3-K programs are offered in all 32 school districts.
• Children have priority to attend 3-K programs in the school district where they live, but families from any district are welcome to apply for September 2024 admissions to programs across the City.
• Due to high demand and limited seats in some areas, 3-K offers are not guaranteed for all applicants.

PRE-K
Apply to Pre-K during the calendar year your child turns four. In early 2024, all NYC families with children born in 2020 can apply for September 2024 admissions to free or low cost, full day, high-quality Pre-K programs.
• Families with children currently attending a three-year-old program, including 3-K, at a school or center that offers Pre-K must still apply to Pre-K to secure your placement in that Pre-K program.
• There is a Pre-K seat for every four-year-old child in New York City.

GIFTED & TALENTED
Gifted & Talented (G&T) programs offer accelerated instruction to eligible elementary schools
students.
You must be eligible to be considered for this program. If you are interested in G&T programs,
you may list them on your kindergarten application along with other, non-G&T programs, in
your true preference order. If you list at least one G&T program as a choice on the application,
your child will be screened for eligibility. For the most up to date information on G&T
admissions, including who can apply, visit schools.nyc.gov/GT.

How To Apply:

Per NYC Public Schools: From exploring schools and early childhood programs to submitting your application and accepting your offer, you can use MySchools at every stage of the admissions process. Before you begin using MySchools, it’s important to know that applying to schools really means applying to programs at those schools. A school may have more than one program; if so, each program counts as a separate choice on your application. For 3-K, Pre-K, Kindergarten, or Gifted & Talented you can create your MySchools account at any time.
